Transparent Planning for Your Treatment
Physician-administered injectable treatments using botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid dermal fillers for wrinkle reduction, facial contouring, and skin rejuvenation.
What Are Injectable Treatments?
Injectable aesthetics encompass two main categories: botulinum toxin (commonly known as Botox) which relaxes facial muscles to smooth dynamic wrinkles, and dermal fillers (typically hyaluronic acid-based) which restore volume and contour to areas affected by age-related volume loss.
At St. George Hospital, all injectable treatments are performed by qualified physicians with training in facial anatomy and aesthetic medicine. The clinical setting ensures sterile conditions and immediate access to medical care if needed.

How Does It Work?
Botulinum toxin works by temporarily blocking the release of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction, reducing muscle contraction in targeted areas. This smooths dynamic wrinkles such as forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet. The effect develops over 3-7 days and lasts 3-4 months.
Hyaluronic acid fillers are gel-based substances injected into the skin to restore lost volume, enhance facial contours, and smooth static wrinkles and folds. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body, and modern fillers are cross-linked for longer duration while remaining biocompatible and reversible.

Is This Therapy Right for You?
Our physicians will evaluate whether this treatment is appropriate for your condition after a thorough assessment.
What Does a Session Look Like?
Injectable treatments are performed in a consultation room setting. After facial assessment and discussion of goals, the physician cleans the treatment area and applies topical anesthetic if desired. Botulinum toxin injections take 10-15 minutes; dermal filler treatments take 20-45 minutes depending on the areas treated. Results from fillers are visible immediately; botulinum toxin takes 3-7 days for full effect. Patients can resume normal activities immediately.
Evidence & Safety
Botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid fillers are among the most extensively studied aesthetic treatments worldwide, with decades of clinical data supporting their safety and efficacy. Both are approved by regulatory authorities in Europe and the United States. Side effects are typically mild and temporary, including bruising, swelling, and tenderness at injection sites. Serious complications are rare when treatments are performed by qualified physicians with thorough knowledge of facial anatomy.
