About St. George Hospital
The hospital
St. George Hospital (Clinicum St. Georg) in Bad Aibling, Bavaria, is a licensed acute internal medicine hospital with 70 beds, founded in 1991. One physician team combines conventional treatment and complementary therapies in a single treatment plan.
Where this began
The same building since 1991
Friedrich Douwes M.D. (1945–2022) opened the hospital in 1991 on Rosenheimer Straße in Bad Aibling. He wanted conventional medicine and the complementary therapies he had seen work to be practiced in one building, by one team, with one chart. The hospital still works this way.
It started with oncology and biological medicine. The Lyme program followed in 1995. Today Julian Douwes M.D. leads the hospital as Chief Medical Officer, together with the medical team.

Whole-body and local-regional hyperthermia run in the hospital's own department; blood is analyzed in the laboratory in the same building.
Where you are going
Bad Aibling, about an hour from Munich Airport
Bad Aibling is a spa town in the foothills of the Alps, about 50 kilometers south-east of Munich on the A8 and about 60 minutes by car from Munich Airport. There is a rail connection from Munich, and the International Office can arrange an airport transfer, which is charged extra.
