Our Treatment Outcomes

We believe in transparency. Below we share aggregated, anonymized outcome data from our treatment programs. Individual results vary based on condition severity, treatment duration, and patient factors.

Why We Publish Outcomes

Accountability Through Transparency

Most hospitals do not publish their treatment outcomes. We believe patients deserve access to this information when making treatment decisions. The data below represents aggregated, anonymized outcomes from decades of clinical practice at St. George Hospital.

These figures reflect our clinical observations and patient-reported outcomes. Where available, we reference objective markers and published research that support our protocols. We encourage patients to discuss these outcomes with our medical team in the context of their individual situation.

Lyme Disease Program

Lyme Disease Outcomes

St. George Hospital has been strategically treating chronic Lyme disease since 1995, when Dr. Friedrich Douwes discovered the dramatic effect of whole-body hyperthermia on Borrelia infection in a cancer patient. Since then, the program has grown into one of the most experienced Lyme treatment centers in the world.

12,000+Lyme Patients Treated
30,000+Whole-Body Hyperthermia Sessions
30+Years of Lyme Expertise (Since 1995)
  • Majority of patients report significant symptom improvement following treatment
  • Key improvements observed: fatigue reduction, cognitive clarity, pain reduction, immune marker normalization
  • CD57+ NK cell count improvement tracked as an objective biomarker of immune recovery
  • Follow-up contact after discharge is part of the record; long-term figures will be published from the registry
  • Patients with early-to-moderate disease severity tend to respond most rapidly

Post-COVID Recovery Program

Post-COVID Outcomes

Our Post-COVID program addresses the underlying pathology of Long COVID through targeted biological therapies, informed by Dr. Beate Jaeger’s microcirculation research.

  • Key improvements: fatigue reduction, cognitive function, exercise tolerance, return to work and school
  • Dr. Beate Jaeger's microcirculation protocols show measurable vascular improvement in treated patients
  • Microclot reduction and improved endothelial function observed through targeted apheresis and supportive therapies
  • Both adult and pediatric patients treated with age-adjusted protocols
Integrative Oncology Program

Oncology Outcomes

Integrative oncology has been part of the hospital since its founding in 1991; biological therapies are combined with conventional cancer treatment.

  • Integrative approach designed to complement and enhance conventional cancer treatment
  • Whole-body hyperthermia combined with low-dose chemotherapy shows enhanced response in selected cases
  • Photodynamic therapy and immune modulation as additional treatment modalities
  • Published research in peer-reviewed journals supports the efficacy of our protocols
  • Patients report improved quality of life, reduced side effects from conventional treatment, and enhanced recovery

Chronic Fatigue / ME/CFS Program

Chronic Fatigue Outcomes

Our chronic fatigue program targets the measurable biological dysfunctions underlying CFS and ME, rather than managing symptoms alone.

  • Mitochondrial function testing shows objective improvement in cellular energy production following treatment
  • NAD+ IV therapy, Neuromodulation and IHHT (Intermittent Hypoxia-Hyperoxia Training) protocols correlate with measurable energy restoration
  • Hormone optimization addresses documented imbalances contributing to fatigue and cognitive dysfunction
  • Patients report gradual but sustained improvement in energy, cognitive function, and exercise tolerance over 3 months post-treatment
  • Autonomic nervous system evaluation guides targeted neuromodulation and stabilization therapies

Disclaimer

These outcomes represent aggregated, anonymized data from our clinical practice. Individual results vary significantly based on condition severity, duration of illness, the presence of comorbidities, treatment duration, and individual patient factors.

We do not guarantee specific outcomes. The information presented on this page is intended to provide transparency about our clinical experience, not to promise particular results for any individual patient.

Treatment decisions should be made in consultation with our medical team based on your individual diagnosis and circumstances. During your initial consultation, our physicians will discuss what realistic expectations may look like for your specific situation.

Some of the therapies described on this page are considered integrative or complementary approaches. While supported by clinical evidence and our extensive clinical experience, they may not be universally accepted by all medical authorities.

How we measure outcomes

Every patient who starts a treatment programme at St. George Hospital is assessed before the first therapy session. Depending on the condition, that baseline combines validated symptom scores, laboratory markers of infection, inflammation and immune function, and imaging or specialist findings where they belong to the diagnosis. The same measurements are repeated at defined points: during the stay, at discharge and in follow-up contact after patients have returned home.

Patient-reported measures sit alongside the laboratory data. Fatigue, pain, cognition and daily function are recorded with the same questionnaires at each interval, so scores from different visits can be compared directly. Courses differ. Patients with the same diagnosis arrive with different histories and leave with different results, and the record is built to show that rather than smooth it over.

We are consolidating these records into one internal outcome registry. Until it is complete, this page publishes no percentages, no response rates and no individual stories. What we can offer today is the method, and the assurance that any figure we publish later will come from it. If you want to know which measurements would apply in your case, ask in your first consultation. The answer is part of the treatment plan.
